Jump-Starting your Motivation and Staying Positive and Productive in a Pandemic
A Talk by Dr. Mark Freeman, MA, MS, Ph.D. (Master Trainer and Executive Coach, Mark S. Freeman and Associates,LLC)
About this Talk
Crises can motivate or demotivate us. This talk discusses how we can use this pandemic to motivate ourselves and stay positive. The iconic master of finding meaning in the worst of circumstances is the eminent Victor Frankl, psychologist and story teller. He produced a memoir on motivation while in a concentration camp that we will unpack to inform our positivity. The common sense time management and priority setting principles of Brian Tracy will add the needed fuel to run the engine of motivation, while we examine how we can propel and power our good habits through the agony of a long and enduring pandemic. Learning outcomes: 1) Understanding the existential psychology of motivation 2) Practicing simple tools to set and drive important priorities that save valuable time 3) How we can unpack, understand and leverage our habits to advantage in times of crisis 4) Pulling motivation, meaning, behavioral tactics, and habits altogether to ignite performance
