HR Discussion Panel: COVID-19's Impact and HR's Priorities. Real Lessons from HR Leaders I
A Talk by Anisa Aven and Heidi Partida
About this Talk
Join our panel discussion as we tackle some of the most pressing questions around what’s working, what’s not, and what HR leaders are learning about managing business and human capital during this ever-changing time of crisis.
Our experienced HR guests have graciously agreed to share their knowledge and experiences.
We plan to uncover and discuss best-practices and real-world HR experience around successfully managing our Human Capital, with questions like:
Were you adequately prepared for this crisis? If not, how did you and your team manage to respond?
What worked well about your company’s response?
And, what didn’t work so well?
What did you learn from situations that have perhaps gone off the rails, or how did you keep initiatives focused and moving forward?
Have you had to lay off workers, and if yes, what was the process and your plan for the future?
How did you move to remote work?
What are some examples of remote-work mistakes/shortcomings, and how are you solving problems?
What infrastructure was not quite in place yet, and caused you to have to adapt rapidly?
What infrastructure are you grateful to have in place? Was this intentional or just lucky?
How are you managing communications with employees? Has this been successful? How do you know?
What about escalation procedures? How does an employee that needs help, get assistance?
Does your crisis-management strategy include strategies for supporting sick, stressed, and mentally-distressed employees?
Did you have a crisis-management strategy, or have you built it on the fly?
How effectively are your managers managing their remote teams?
What’s been the biggest challenge and some solutions for overcoming it?
What are your company’s back-to-work (or back to in-person) plans? And, how will the organization ensure a safe facility?
What, if any, were the leadership or employee gaps, that you’re still trying to close? And, how are you measuring this gap as well as going about closing it?
